The Campaign for Lake Placid Horse Shows
Organizing and maintaining a high-caliber event like the Lake Placid Horse Shows demands considerable resources. While entry fees, ticket sales, and sponsorships play an important role in funding, they fall short of covering all expenses. Connect, as possible, to pedestrian/bike infrastructure
The operation and maintenance of a high-caliber event like the Lake Placid Horse Shows demand substantial resources. While entry fees, ticket sales, and sponsorships contribute significantly, they are not enough to cover all expenses. Contributing to our campaign will help LPHS remain competitive and sustain the tradition of our beloved annual shows. Your support will directly fund FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale) improvements, advancing LPHS’s goal of achieving federation status. Additionally, contributions will enhance competition rings and other vital elements of the show while bolstering our operational funds.
Together, we can keep the spirit of the Lake Placid Horse Shows alive for future generations!
Our history
Celebrating 55 years of equestrian tradition, the Lake Placid Horse Shows (LPHS) have flourished at the historic site of the 1980 Olympic Opening Ceremonies. With roots in show jumping dating back to the 1930s, LPHS was officially founded in 1970 as a “Token Horse Show” leading to accreditation with the American Horse Shows Association (AHSA).
The inaugural LPHS in 1971 showcased 145 elite horses and served as a U.S. Olympic show jumping team selection site in 1984 and 1988. Today, recognized as one of the nation’s premier horse shows by Elite Equestrian Magazine, LPHS is proudly referred to as the “best two weeks of a horseman’s summer” and has earned accolades as one of the country’s Top Ten Horse Shows. It is also designated as a “USEF Heritage Competition” by the U.S. Equestrian Federation.
